Jayco Jay Flight 27 BH Travel Trailer PDF Print E-mail

[Update] September 2005 - We've had our trailer for over a year now and are still very pleased with it.  Only complaints are: not enough counter top space.  The only real problem we've had with it is the screws that fasten the dinette bench seat to the wall completely stripped out.  No surprise, what with all the flexing that goes on when driving...  Easy fix though - instead of screwing it back to the wall and subjecting it to the same shearing forces as before, I've mounted wood strips to the wall on neither side of the bench backboard.  Now the bench back is not directly mounted to the wall. [End update]

We purchased our trailer in April 2004 after an intensive search (RV dealers and online websites).  Our family consists of 2 adults, a 9 year old and a 3 year old.  There were several features we found desirable in the 27 BH compared to other trailers.
The floor plan is arranged nicely for a family or even 2 couples.  The bunk bed feature is a real hit for our boyz, offering real flexibility in sleeping arrangements (or stowing sleeping bags).  Both the main bed and the double bed lift up to access ample storage underneath.  Another standout feature is the bathroom.  The shower is very large and has a skylight/dome that gives plenty of headroom.  I'm 6'2" and never felt cramped in the shower.  Speaking of headroom - another feature I personally like about the trailer is the overall headroom.  This trailer has about 3" more headroom than any other trailer we looked at.  Nice for tall folks!  Jayco separated the bathroom sink from the bathroom, placing it just outside the bathroom door.  This is also a nice touch because the sink can be used while the bathroom is "occupied".
