Looking for a Purpose in Life?

The hope of Outdoor Adventure Spirit is to someday reach a point where we can make a notable contribution to our community and society.  While our plan is under development, we would like to direct you to those organizations that not only align with our own Mission, but have already made a positive impact to that which we regard important to our lives.

  Bookmarks Description
YMCA Together, the nation's 2,594 YMCAs are the largest not-for-profit community service organization in America, working to meet the health and human service needs of 20.1 million men, women and children in 10,000 communities in the United States. YMCAs are at the heart of community life across the country: 42 million families and 72 million households are located within three miles of a YMCA.

YMCA stands for Young Men's Christian Association, but don't misinterpret this to mean that YMCAs are only for "young, Christian men." From its start more than 150 years ago, when George Williams founded the YMCA as a substitute Bible study and prayer for life on the streets, the YMCA was unusual because it crossed the rigid lines that separated all the different churches and social classes in England in those days. This openness was a trait that would lead YMCAs to recognize their strength is in the people they bring together -- Ys are for all people of all faiths, races, ages, abilities and incomes. YMCAs' financial assistance policies ensure that no one is turned away for reasons of inability to pay.

World Wildlife Fund Established in 1961, WWF operates in more than 100 countries.

We are currently funding around 2,000 conservation projects and employ almost 4,000 people across the planet.

The organization is almost unique in that it has that local presence to global presence - talking to tribes of Baka pygmies in the central African rainforests, through to face-to-face discussions with institutions such as the World Bank and the European Commission.

But at every stage WWF works with local people, it works with partners, it works with its donors. Nothing - absolutely nothing - would have been possible or remain possible without them.

TripsForKids.org Trips for Kids® (TFK) is a non-profit that provides mountain bike outings and environmental education for kids who would not otherwise be exposed to such activities. At our outings, we teach lessons in personal responsibility, achievement and environmental awareness through the simple act of having fun.

Trail Angels Vision: To grow and develop a group of women mountain biking enthusiasts and create a symphony of characters that come together and strengthen one another spiritually and physically.

Mission: To create an atmosphere of FUN, encouragement, adventure and strength through mountain biking for women of all ages. To give them the tools that are necessary to handle most technical situations and to feel more confident on the bike and out in their world.

If you find a place to release stress and relish in what you are passionate about for a few hours... you have so much more of yourself to give back to everyone!

Adventure will open the windows of your mind and show latent strengths which might have remained dormant.
