Looking for a Purpose in Life?

The hope of Outdoor Adventure Spirit is to someday reach a point where we can make a notable contribution to our community and society.  While our plan is under development, we would like to direct you to those organizations that not only align with our own Mission, but have already made a positive impact to that which we regard important to our lives.

  Bookmarks Description
Trail Angels Vision: To grow and develop a group of women mountain biking enthusiasts and create a symphony of characters that come together and strengthen one another spiritually and physically.

Mission: To create an atmosphere of FUN, encouragement, adventure and strength through mountain biking for women of all ages. To give them the tools that are necessary to handle most technical situations and to feel more confident on the bike and out in their world.

If you find a place to release stress and relish in what you are passionate about for a few hours... you have so much more of yourself to give back to everyone!

Adventure will open the windows of your mind and show latent strengths which might have remained dormant.

TripsForKids.org Trips for Kids® (TFK) is a non-profit that provides mountain bike outings and environmental education for kids who would not otherwise be exposed to such activities. At our outings, we teach lessons in personal responsibility, achievement and environmental awareness through the simple act of having fun.

YMCA Together, the nation's 2,594 YMCAs are the largest not-for-profit community service organization in America, working to meet the health and human service needs of 20.1 million men, women and children in 10,000 communities in the United States. YMCAs are at the heart of community life across the country: 42 million families and 72 million households are located within three miles of a YMCA.

YMCA stands for Young Men's Christian Association, but don't misinterpret this to mean that YMCAs are only for "young, Christian men." From its start more than 150 years ago, when George Williams founded the YMCA as a substitute Bible study and prayer for life on the streets, the YMCA was unusual because it crossed the rigid lines that separated all the different churches and social classes in England in those days. This openness was a trait that would lead YMCAs to recognize their strength is in the people they bring together -- Ys are for all people of all faiths, races, ages, abilities and incomes. YMCAs' financial assistance policies ensure that no one is turned away for reasons of inability to pay.

Surfrider Foundation The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enhancement of the world's waves and beaches through conservation, activism, research and education.

Leave No Trace The Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships. Leave No Trace builds awareness, appreciation and respect for our wildlands.

IMBA The International Mountain Bicycling Association is a non-profit educational association whose mission is to create, enhance and preserve trail opportunities for mountain bikers worldwide.

Since 1988, IMBA has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trailwork participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy and innovative trail management solutions.

IMBA's worldwide network includes 32,000 individual members, more than 450 bicycle clubs, more than 130 corporate partners and about 200 bicycle retailers. IMBA's members live in all 50 U.S. states, most Canadian provinces and in 30 other countries.

IMBA's headquarters are located in Boulder, Colorado, at the base of the Rocky Mountains. The IMBA Canada office is located in Collingwood, Ontario. We currently have 22 staff members and 9 volunteer directors.

Coalition for a Healthy and Active America The Coalition for a Healthy and Active America (CHAA) was formed in 2003 by concerned organizations and national leaders to educate parents, children, schools, and communities about the critical roles physical activity and nutrition education play in reversing the alarming trends of childhood obesity.

As a non-profit national grassroots coalition, CHAA is a vigorous advocate for developing healthy and active lifestyles for America's youth.

Ultimately, we believe that those the responsibility for our children’s health rests with parents, not government. However, policy makers can play a positive role in addressing children’s health by encouraging schools to implement the surgeon general’s recommendation of 60 minutes of physical activity everyday for school-aged kids. Nutrition education should be expanded and modernized. And finally, be cautious of food bans and taxes. Dietary restrictions only encourage overindulgence by those most at risk.

Outdoors Club OutdoorsClub.org is a grass roots organization for outdoor enthusiasts with thousands of active members and outings nearly every day. Our powerful, user-friendly Web site enables members to easily organize and join a diverse range of exciting outdoor excursions. OutdoorsClub.org has no political agenda, or mandatory meetings. And because the Club and its activities are run by regular members, most activities are free. So if you want to hike, bike, climb, backpack, snowboard or participate in other outdoor pursuits, from beginner to expert, with fun-loving, active folks, the Club is for you!

Outdoor Industry Association Outdoor Industry Foundation's (OIF) long term goal is to turn active outdoor recreation into the #1 leisure activity in America.
